Thanks, I shall try that.
Actually, the only problem arises with my /home partition,
which I use with both Fedora's.

Incidentally, when I tried to login without changing the permissions
I was told I could not enter /home/tim/ (which I understand)
and that I would be logged into the / directory,
but in fact that never happened.
