I see that according to the KMail Handbook (kdepim-4.4.11)

If you are going to use the folder for a mailing list
then you should check Folder holds a mailing list
to associate this folder with the mailing list.
Next you should click on Detect Automatically.

What exactly is a "mailing list" in this context?
The Handbook does not seem to give any information on this.
How does one install a mailing list into a Folder?
Could someone give an example of such a mailing list, please.
