show hidden icons not working?

I think this is normal for non-KDE stuff, it uses the legacy XEmbed-based 
system tray spec which does not consider text at all, and mouse events are 
only handled inside the XEmbed "window", which is the icon only.

Why you are getting this behavior with the battery plasmoid, I don't know.
