Suspicion regarding the kmail "Retrieving Folder Contents - Please wait ..." problem

I saw that suggestion, but I certainly wasn't using gmail imap
when the problem occured.
I was using imap (dovecot) on my server, but not gmail,
which I am slightly allergic to.
