Suspicion regarding the kmail "Retrieving Folder Contents - Please wait ..." problem

I also don't like that the new kmail often gives no feedback.  If you ask it to 
update a folder (forgot the exact term), it may just sit there giving no 
indication whether it's doing anything or not.
