If we were to go down this route (and I am not committing to do any work
in this area), the plan should be to allow the install to go to any supported
file system type, regardless of what was used on the image itself. This would
be a necessary change if we stopped doing ext3 embedded in squashfs. I have
some interest in that, but its not high enough priority for me to say it
will ever rise to the top of my todo list.

P.S. I am keeping this just on the livecd list. That seems more appropriate
than the users list and it shouldn't be on both.
