Any news on this issue?

Currently, we have binutils in F14 producing v2 relocs by default, but a
runtime that doesn't understand v2 relocs and crashes

We should either, if updating to 3.18 is no option, patch v2 reloc capability
into 3.15.2 from later versions, or hack binutils to default to v1 relocs.

Right now all users need to manually add --enable-runtime-pseudo-reloc-v1 to
their linker command line or risk getting segfaulting programs.

See for example 654424.
