Summary: RFE: rename to "omake" (drop the "ocaml-" prefix).
Product: Fedora
Version: rawhide
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: medium
Priority: low
Component: ocaml-omake
AssignedTo: rjones at redhat.com
ReportedBy: aleksey at nogin.org
QAContact: extras-qa at fedoraproject.org
CC: rjones at redhat.com, fedora-ocaml-list at redhat.com
Classification: Fedora
OMake does not require OCaml at runtime (only at build time) and can be used
(and often used) for compiling pure C/C++ projects without any OCaml in them.
The current name implies that OMake is a part of OCaml world - while in fact
OMake is an independent tool, that just happens to be written in OCaml and is
also happens to have a build recipes library for compiling OCaml projects.
Also, the "legacy" package that I have provided for years was always called
"omake".
TIA!
P.S. I am one of the OMake co-authors.
