Git is a fast, scalable, distributed revision control system with an
unusually rich command set that provides both high-level operations
and full access to internals.

The git rpm installs the core tools with minimal dependencies.  To
install all git packages, including tools for integrating with other
SCMs, install the git-all meta-package.

Update Information:

This update to git-1.6.0.6 brings a number of improvements to git users.
Numerous bugs have been fixed, both in the packaging and in the upstream
release.    Among the notable package changes, the default directory used by
git-daemon has moved from /srv/git to /var/lib/git, in order to be consistent
with current F10/F11 packages and Fedora's Packaging Guidelines.    For full
