Description :
LIRC is a package that allows you to decode and send infra-red and
other signals of many (but not all) commonly used remote controls.
Included applications include daemons which decode the received
signals as well as user space applications which allow controlling a
computer with a remote control.

Update Information:

New upstream release. Current f14 packages are pre-release bits, would like to
get the final in. Very little change since 0.8.7pre2, regression-tested with
mceusb, streamzap, usb-uirt and commandIR II hardware.

This update can be installed with the "yum" update program.  Use 
su -c 'yum update lirc' at the command line.
