Fedora Update Notification

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name : python-numexpr
Product : Fedora 16
Version : 2.0
Release : 1.fc16
URL : http://numexpr.googlecode.com/
Summary : Fast numerical array expression evaluator for Python and NumPy
Description :
The numexpr package evaluates multiple-operator array expressions many
times faster than NumPy can. It accepts the expression as a string,
analyzes it, rewrites it more efficiently, and compiles it to faster
Python code on the fly. It's the next best thing to writing the
expression in C and compiling it with a specialized just-in-time (JIT)
compiler, i.e. it does not require a compiler at runtime.

Update Information:

Update to version 2.0:
- support for the new iterator object in NumPy 1.6 and later
- Division in numexpr is consistent now with Python/NumPy
- Constants like "2." or "2.0" must be evaluated as float, not integer
- `evaluate()` function has received a new parameter `out` for storing the result in already allocated arrays.
- Maximum number of threads raised from 256 to 4096.
