The initscripts package contains the basic system scripts used to boot
your Red Hat or Fedora system, change runlevels, and shut the system down
cleanly.  Initscripts also contains the scripts that activate and
deactivate most network interfaces.

Update Information:

This is the latest upstream release of initscripts, which fixes a few issues in the networking code, and tweaks how plymouth is shut down by GDM and KDM.

This update can be installed with the "yum" update program.  Use 
su -c 'yum update initscripts' at the command line.
