Description :
LVM2 includes all of the support for handling read/write operations on
physical volumes (hard disks, RAID-Systems, magneto optical, etc.,
multiple devices (MD), see mdadd(8) or even loop devices, see
losetup(8)), creating volume groups (kind of virtual disks) from one
or more physical volumes and creating one or more logical volumes
(kind of logical partitions) in volume groups.

Update Information:

This update fixes a problem with dangling udev synchronization cookies (system-wide semaphores) that libdevmapper uses to synchronize with its udev actions. It also fixes a problem with LVM2 autoactivation feature that triggered a scan for a PV and any subsequent VG/LV activation even for PVs that were already present in the system before and for which only a change event was generated (e.g. because of the WATCH udev rule that triggered on close of a device opened for read-write access).
