Summary     : Tools for monitoring SMART capable hard disks
Description :
The smartmontools package contains two utility programs (smartctl
and smartd) to control and monitor storage systems using the Self-
Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology System (SMART) built
into most modern ATA and SCSI hard disks. In many cases, these
utilities will provide advanced warning of disk degradation and
failure.

- option/directive '-F nologdir' and '-F xerrorlba'.
- smartctl '--identify' option.
- smartctl prints nominal media rotation rate (ATA).
- smartctl prints SATA version and speed.
- smartctl '-l sataphy' works for CD/DVD drives also.
- smartctl '-x' includes ATA Device Statistics.
- smartd warning emails include device identify info.
- smartd '-d' output is flushed to support redirection.
- HDD, SSD and USB additions to drive database.
