Name        : Lmod
Product     : Fedora 21
Version     : 5.8
Release     : 1.fc21
URL         : https://www.tacc.utexas.edu/tacc-projects/lmod
Summary : Environmental Modules System in Lua
Description :
Lmod is a Lua based module system that easily handles the MODULEPATH
Hierarchical problem. Environment Modules provide a convenient way to
dynamically change the users' environment through modulefiles. This includes
easily adding or removing directories to the PATH environment variable.
Modulefiles for library packages provide environment variables that specify
where the library and header files can be found.

Update Information:

Update to 5.8 which supports autoswap. That is if you have a compiler loaded and/or an mpi stack, you can now load different compiler: For example:

   $ module purge
   $ module load gcc mpich
   $ module load intel openmpi

The third command will automatically unload gcc and mpich and replace them with the intel and openmpi modules. This assumes that you have using the family directive for both compilers and mpi stacks.
