Description :
Scanner Access Now Easy (SANE) is a universal scanner interface. The
SANE application programming interface (API) provides standardized
access to any raster image scanner hardware (flatbed scanner,
hand-held scanner, video and still cameras, frame-grabbers, etc.).

kodakaio and pixma backends. * Minor updates, bugfixes or scanners added in
several backends. * 300 new scanner models supported. * Workaround for
USB3 problems in Linux kernel. * Added code for IR functionality. *
Documentation and translation updates. * Bugfixes (threading, networking,
udev rules). * ship umax_pp tool * add weak dependencies so backend drivers get
installed automatically if available in repositories
