The spec file in upstream CVS has a bunch of stuff for building CVS snapshot
releases, and also groks the version number from elsewhere in the upstream
release. For Fedora Extras, where you probably won't be releasing CVS snapshots
at all and where the spec file is maintained in Fedora CVS away from all of the
other upstream files, you won't need any of that. So I'd suggest removing all of
that and hardcoding the version number in the Version: tag.

Since that will then be a different spec file than the one in upstream CVS, you
should provide a link to the modified spec file for Fedora Extras in this
bugzilla ticket.
