I was thinking about -static binary file that allow to be used with the rescue cd
(not usually used but in case of broken system for any reason)
Maybe the package should be named -recovery to make this clear?
I think the QA would be this way...

yes i'm interested in co-maintainership as secondary maintainer (as you may be
more involve with upstream) unless it prevent me to import the package if i made
the modifications...
