You really don't wan't me maintaining anything :)
I don't have the skills necessary for it. I'm a middle ground linux user/admin.
But I can go to all formal channels and bug other people in fedora community to 
pick it up and do start mainaining it.

So when will gdal be ready for including in fedora 6 extra of fedora 7 
repositories?
