Okay, builds fine on ppc64. I've tracked down the bug to what looks like some
wrong assumptions about integer sizes in the makefile. I'll get that fixed.
(Package review guidelines indicate that we can go ahead in the meantime; I'll
file the separate bug for that as soon as possible.)
