Probably off-topic wrt. reviewing, but I am wondering, ...

* most netbooks are very similar, so why is this tool restricted/limited to
eee's (rsp. to a subset of them, as some remarks above seem to indicate).
* How do netbook focused distros handle this kind of problems? One package per
hw-manufacturer/per model?
