I think we can do better than "why don't you become a computer programmer if
you want this to proceed?".

At a minimum we need a new icon and that hasn't been changed yet.  That would
be a contribution most users could achieve.

FWIW, I still use this because my eee randomly shuts off bits of hardware at
the BIOS level and eee-control can turn them back on.  It also keep the fan a
bit more relaxed.
