Thee is a new version of the software available.

I can't determine the GPL version in use.  The source files don't seem to
specify a version, but the manpage has the proper notice in comments at the
top:

"
.\" This is free documentation; you can redistribute it and/or
.\" modify it under the terms of the GNU General Public License as
.\" published by the Free Software Foundation; either version 2 of
.\" the License, or (at your option) any later version.
"

but of course that only applies to the documentation.

Further down in the manpage:

"
.SH LICENSE
This program is free software; you can redistribute it and/or modify
it under the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by
the Free Software Foundation; either version 2 of the License.
"

which makes... no sense.  I'll block FE-Legal; you should get upstream to
clarify.
