The invalid source URL is because of the tarball rename.

The zero-length file was addressed in the first comment: I can remove it, but I
would have to patch some other files to get rid of references to it.

I checked and the bug that was blocking this bug is no longer an issue as you
pointed out.  I went ahead and closed it, so this review can continue.
