Yes, I'm here.  Just playing catch up.  I'll try and digest these things
from an rpm/rpm-python point of view.

If I'm understanding it you want something ala:

ts.addReplacement(hdr1, hdr2)

which is equivalent to:

addInstall(hdr1, blah, 'i')
addErase(hdr2)

or am I just on crack.
