Erm, I even responded in one of the main filed bugs asking for people to
assist with the packaging, and offered sponsorship.  The only responses
I received were from people who did not believe they would be able to
help.

I don't believe I've received any personal email from you requesting
this, but then I'm just a comaintainer who doesn't want full
responsibility for the package, so perhaps you didn't email me.  I have
no idea of the original packager is even still around.
