[Fedora-packaging] Autotools Obsolete macros

Hi,
  While reviewing any package if I see similar usage as explained on
https://fedorahosted.org/FedoraReview/wiki/AutoTools page, should this
issue be considered MUST or SHOULD item?

e.g. should AM_PROG_LIBTOOL be replaced by LT_INIT by patching configure.ac?
