There were problems with truncating HTTPS responses by LWP modules when using
IO::Socket::SSL. It has a long history and the problems lies in more packages
then just a perl-LWP-Protocol-https.

I recommend you to read bug #768394 and to pick up other packages like
perl-Net-HTTP.

I believe you will understand that I cannot support your personal mixture of
Fedora 16 and 18. According my records, problem you reported is fixed in Fedora
17 and later.
