It appears that Getopt 0.090-1.el6.rf was loaded from rpmforge without my
knowledge.  

When I removed that repository (as I wasn't using it for this computer) and
reinstalled perl-Getops-Long-Descriptive from EPEL, I recieved version
0.084-2.el6 and the command worked.
