hey bryson, I went in this rat hole myself,

so if you figure it out let me know.
IIRC, there seem to be a bunch of file systems here.
1) the initrd
2) the DVD file system
3) the squashfs on the DVD

I think if you use "root=/dev/nfs", that will get you a little further to trying to find the suashfs, but I'm not sure its the right direction.

I also asked on IRC and got some good information, but mostly that it has not been tested and would be hard (my words).
