 A erroneous return value may cause a wrong device to be opened as
 synaptics device. Both the synaptics touchpad and the other device usually
 become non-responsive if this happens.

 This bug is triggered if a synaptics InputDevice section with Protocol
 "auto-dev"is present in the xorg.conf and there is at least one mouse-like
 device with a higher /dev/input/eventX number than the synaptics device
 file.
