Please tag cups-1.4.1-12.fc12 for f12-final. Here are the changes:
{{{
* Tue Oct 27 2009 Jiri Popelka <jpopelka at redhat.com> 1:1.4.1-12
- Fix incorrectly applied patch from #STR3285 (bug #531108).
- Set the PRINTER_IS_SHARED variable for admin.cgi (bug #529634,
#STR3390).
- Pass through serial parameters correctly in web interface (bug #529635,
#STR3391).
- Fixed German translation (bug #531144, #STR3396).
* Tue Oct 20 2009 Jiri Popelka <jpopelka at redhat.com> 1:1.4.1-11
- Fix cups-lpd to create unique temporary data files (bug #529838).
}}}
These changes fix:
1. the 'lprm' command, which was not working at all
2. another typo in the German translation
3. several problems with the CUPS web interface
4. an issue (seen on Red Hat Enterprise Linux) with cups-lpd under high
load
They are all small, targeted fixes, each of which has been individually
tested. I'm running cups-1.4.1-12.fc12 here, and a Fedora 11 test update
is in the process of being pushed.
Without these fixes the 'lprm' command will be useless, the German
translation for the web interface will contain errors, the web interface
will not work at all for serial printers and will be confusing to use with
any shared printer, and servers running cups-lpd may run into problems
under high load.
The cups-lpd fix switches from using the CUPS 'own' temporary file name
generator to using mkstemp(). The failure condition was that no temporary
file could be created -- so this is not security related.
