 ok, the problem here seems to have been a change in dracut.
 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=860977

 It now makes initrd's all mod 600, which meant that our script was unable
 to pull them over and somehow also caused it to hang. ;(

 We will be adjusting the scripts today hopefully to account for that...
