 Perhaps we could get this data from tagger/packages?

 You are already getting tag data from tagger, or is that not the case yet?

 Tagger/packages already has the icons and descriptions, however, I don't
 know about the localized descriptions.

 Perhaps we can discuss this next week and see if this approach would work?
