A Ruby FAD would be absolutely awesome. There's some things to discuss, and
there's some things to get done.

I estimate this (address all of the problems / questions / tasks we are or
would be looking at) cannot be done over the course a single weekend, and
face-to-face high bandwidth, throw-marker-at-whiteboard discussions and
follow-up would need to be included.

That said, were we to meet up some place for one week, the funding required
would simply be enormous. It would better be combined with a significant,
other, Ruby related event where we can show what we are doing / have done, to
justify such cost and potentially engage way more people.

RubyConf 2010 is starting in three days in New Orleans ;-)

FUDCon Tempe is more appropriate in terms of planning, but I highly doubt all
too many of us will be there. I hope to be able to discuss some if the things
as I envision them with some of you, at least.

FOSDEM 2011 will be held February 5-6th, in Brussels, Belgium. I'll be there
hopefully giving a Ruby talk to devs on the pains they give sysadmins -if they
ever open up the Ruby track talk proposal submission like they had last year.

I suppose the question becomes;

- What is the agenda, what type of preparations would we need, and what type
of event would we want to make our little gathering?

Kind regards,
