Download of Fedora Core 1 via mirror server

Dear folks,

On the Fedora Project website, the primary donload location for 
Fedora Core 1 is specified as:

http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/1/i386/iso/


However, the present mirrors that have been used for Red Hat Linux, 
Fedora Core test releases etc. so far synchronise against:

ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/


How is this supposed to be?
Will there be special mirror servers for Fedora Core?
