Intel 100 are very good NICs, but better with _e100_ driver.

A RealTek RTL-8139C+ clone is cheaper. But it must be C+, only _8139_
are shit. The driver is 8139cp.

A very cheap Gb NIC is Netgear GA302T, tg3 driver.

But if you have a problem with a 905, better send a report to bugzilla
or to netdev at oss.sgi.com(net devices Linux ml)
