has anyone been ambitious enough to apply the reiser4 patches
to the latest 2.6.0-test4 kernel and play with reiser4? i ask
since the instructions at www.namesys.com are a mite confusing.
under DOWNLOAD, there's a link to "reiser for 2.6", which states
that you should first apply the patches (note *plural* here) from
http://www.namesys.com/snapshots .
there are, in fact, two diff files there, but they have the
puzzling names
reiser4-kernelonly.diff (23k)
reiser4.diff (2.6m)
puzzling because i would have thought the patch file(s) would
have been pretty much exclusively for patching the kernel.
as a test, i applied the larger patch file, at which point,
the smaller one *appeared* to be superfluous.
so, can someone explain the difference between the two patch
files, given that the smaller one seems unnecessary? or am i
just misreading things?
