Where does the update agent keep its information

Actually, the up2date agent, or rhn_applet if that is what the user is
referring to, gets it's information from /etc/sysconfig/rhn/rhn-applet. 
The sources file is only for when you run up2date itself to do one of
it's functions. (unless he's referring to running the command itself,
then you are indeed correct)
