Do you mean the dot that separates n-v-r from arch.rpm? It shouldn't be
a problem, I think most parsing code looks for .arch.rpm at the end of
the string and treats everything before it as n-v-r. There are prior
examples of a release field with a dot in it and it hasn't caused a
problem.
