mkinitrd-4.0.0-1 might be broken

This sounds in the ballpark. It does mention a 4.0.1 package in the works.

I use the device numbers to make it very primitive.

        root (hd1,2)
        kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.7-1.437.build ro root=0803
        initrd /boot/initrd-2.6.7-1.437.build.img

The old mkinitrd works fine in this setup. I just wanted to see if others had a
similar experience. I think I will avoid testing mkinitrd for a week or two.
