gnome-alsamixer not in pre-extras

That said, Gnome's new volume controller is no beauty contest winner,
either.  I get this extremely wide window with a scrollbar and long
names like "3D Control Sigmatel - Depth" and "EMU10K1 PCM Send" (that
one has 24 sliders, for some reason.)  I guess a simple volume
controller is out of the question these days.  Sigh.
