Sound changed a lot between fc1 and fc2-test1 since the whole subsystem
is replaced by another (oss -> alsa). However, I have the same audio
card as you have and It seems like it is working ok except for the
configuration applet.
I get the error message also, but it seems bogus. When I use 'aumix' to
turn the volume up I get the test sound loud and clear.
I suppose a bug should be filed against system-config-soundcard (if it
has not already been done, I don't have the time to check that out now.)
