The kernel in the FC1 x86_64 distribution is the latest kernel ... 
2.4.22-1.2174.nptl.  The kernel is the x86_64 kernel ... this is really 
defines the system as a x86_64 system ... the applications supported can be 
32 bit or 64 bit applications.
