KDE menu-structure, configs and icons lost

Well - a long list, and not only a few things to do...
For me everything was fine with KDE 3.2.1 until i updated two days ago - hard 
to believe that I have to do all the stuff only because I get these 
"unimportend" package updates...

Just a question: whats about the kde-redhat packages when they are coming up 
for Fedora Core 2 (maybe test xy)?
Do they have the same problems?
Or will they solve them?
