2.6 does not support IDE hotswap. The maintainer for 2.6 decided to not
include it. This is unfortunate for anyone with a laptop or SATA on 3112
hardware

I would recommend continuing to use 2.4, at least for now. I may get
annoyed enough to do some IDE patches for 2.6 to fix this but that
won't be before late May and its lower priority than the broken acard,
ncr5380, and atmel-wireless hardare support, all of which I need. August
might be a better estimate.
