Apparently they think this has something to do with the mii-tool interface. 
At least in Taroon. There is bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=102685 which applies 
to Taroon and IIRC there is also 1 against FC1. FWIW they have a kernel patch
listed as a fix for the Taroon bug but I tried it and I still cannot get 
boomerang cards to work.
