Hi Rob:

Don't recall seeing a response to this so I'll pass along an idea.  Open up 
Control Center > KDE components > File associations > text > html.  In the 
"Application Precedence Order"  dialog box select firefox & edit.  In the 
"Application" tab, add %u to the end of the command: so it reads 
"/usr/bin/firefox %u".

That SHOULD get it to work.
