Howdy -
Using FC3 RC5 updated as of today. I had to disconnect my external USB
2.0 HP DVD Writer in order to get FC3 installed, otherwise I got a fatal
oops at installation time.
Now that FC3 is installed, I am trying to use said DVD+RW drive. When I
plug it in I see this:
Nov 5 14:10:29 thomas kernel: usb 1-1: new high speed USB device using
address 2
Nov 5 14:10:29 thomas kernel: scsi3 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass
Storage devices
Nov 5 14:10:29 thomas kernel: Vendor: HP Model: DVD Writer
200j Rev: 1.13
Nov 5 14:10:29 thomas kernel: Type: CD-ROM
ANSI SCSI revision: 02

Nov 5 14:10:29 thomas kernel: sr0: scsi3-mmc drive: 32x/32x writer
cd/rw xa/form2 cdda tray
However, usbview, grip and XCDroast do not see the drive. It works
flawlessly in FC2.
I do see it in /proc/bus/usb/devices though:

Am I missing something? What do I need to do to use this drive?

A: Because people read from top to bottom.
Q: Why is top-posting bad?
