nvidia driver kernel 2.6.9 667

OK just out of curiosity after hacking the nv.c file and getting X
working I decided to try the new driver they posted today as suggested.
Installed Perfectly and the module loaded but when I start X I get

Same xorg.conf as before - the only thing that changed is the driver

Any ideas ?
